An extremely rare gold/enamel hunting cased pocket watch set with pearls and diamonds and figure automaton with a repeater, circa 1880, made for the Indian market.
18K gold magnificently engraved case, both sides black enamelled, face set with a half Oriental pearl and large diamonds, inside punched with the maker’s mark Favre-Leuba & Co., serial number 13611. Signed enamel dial, in the centre, the extremely beautiful figure automaton with two putti striking bells during the repeating, Roman radial hours, outer minutes track, and pink gold hands. Exquisite precision lever movement, quarter-hour repeater and figure automaton, screwed gold chatons, wolf’s toothing, from very fine quality, and signed Favre-Leuba & Co. Bombay & Calcutta.
