Gold quarter repeating watch by Breguet & Fils
–
A Swiss gold quarter repeating skeletonized pocket watch with serpentine gongs, circa 1810. The watch features a gilded skeletonised movement with beautifully engraved bridges, a cylinder escapement, a plain three arm balance, and two polished asymmetrical hammers that repeat on serpentine gongs, alongside polished steel repeating work visible at the front. The dial has a white enamel chapter ring showcasing the signature Breguet et Fils, Arabic numerals, an outer minute ring, and blued steel moon hands. It is housed in a gold case with an engine turned back, a base featuring a vacant oval cartouche, and a glazed cuvette with apertures for winding and hand setting, with the back numbered.

Movement is running and repeating. The repetition sounds somewhat tinny. The dial enamel chapter ring is in good condition. The case has some light depressions on the back and some wear to the engine turned decoration towards the edges.
