A French 18 carat gold quarter repeating verge pocket watch, circa 1800. An Empire case, polished, reeded bezels and band, slide on the band at 11 for locking the repeating. The gilt metal cuvette hinged to the movement ring. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, winding aperture at 2 and blued steel Breguet hands. Matte gilt, full plate movement, verge escapement, three arm brass balance, flat balance spring, pierced and chased continental cock with polished steel endplate, silvered regulation dial, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant.
