A very fine, extraordinary Geneva quarter repeating gold enamel pocket watch, circa 1815. 18k gold case, half pearl set bezels, the back cover with very fine polychrome enamel painting: alpine village with a stream against a background of mountains in the evening sun. Reeded band, signed gold dome, protective case glazed on both sides. Dial is gold, engine-turned centre, radial Roman numerals, snake hands. Bridge movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, blued screws, going barrel, 2 hammers / 2 gongs, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance, blued balance spring, sapphire endstone on balance.
