A gentleman’s very fine, important gold enamel quarter repeating pocket watch with musical movement for the Chinese market, circa 1815. 18k pink gold case, the back cover enamelled with an alpine pastoral riverside view with a sherpherd and a shepherdess in the manner of JeanLouis Richter, engine-turned and translucent rose-coloured enamelled background, the band with champleve decoration, splitpearl set bezels pendant and bow with a champleve enamelled decoration, gilt dome. Dial is enamel, radial Roman numerals, centre seconds, blued Breguet hands. Bridge movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, blued screws, 2 hammers / 2 gongs, 1 barrel for going train, 1 barrel for striking train, musical movmenet, cylinder escapement, ring balance.
