In 1848 the brothers Benjamin Haas (1829-1925) and Leopold Haas (1827-1915) founded the company B. Haas or B. Haas & Cie, later officially Ancienne Manufacture de Montres Haas & Cie. called. From Geneva , the Haas company achieved its reputation with extraordinary watches that can still be considered modern today. Even then, the Haas watch manufacturer was distinguished by its unique, exclusive pieces. Rare treasures such as double chronographs are created as well as beautifully crafted bags and wristwatches. The outstanding principle of the watch manufacture was the combination of simplicity, technology and elegance. The company had offices in New York, Paris, and Cannes Besançon. The company was based in Geneva at Quai de Montblanc 5.

Benjamin Haas invented an elevator in which the spring was wound by opening the lid of the hunter. This patent, explained and illustrated under British Patent No. 3945, was granted to Benjamin Haas on December 2, 1873 . Other watchmakers used the patent for a fee, such as Humbert-Ramuz & Co. or Louis Frédéric Lebet .

The company name B. Haas was changed to B. Haas Jeune & Cie. In 1884 Haas changed its name to Haas Neveux & Cie. as new family members had taken their place in society. At the same time, the original logo of BH & Co. (for Benjamin Haas & Co) is changed to the small running rabbit, which embodies the dynamism of the house in an oval below the letters HNC, the company was called Manufacture. The manufacturer achieved a record in 1896 with an ultra-thin movement (2mm) for a ladies’ watch. A Swiss patent no. 4230 received the company B. Haas Jeune (Paris) and “Gustave Trouve Engineers and Electricians” in 1891 for the illumination of the dials of pocket watches and clocks.
