Geneva gold minute repeating hunting cased watch

Very fine Swiss 18K gold and enamel, pearl and diamond set, hunting cased, keyless, minute repeating lady’s pendant watch, made for the Chinese market, circa 1896. Attributed to P. A. Champod
Nickel movement, 26 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, striking on gongs by a slide on the band.
Case front cover painted with Palemon and Lavinia in a woodland landscape, surrounded by an engraved gold foliate frame with diamond set flowers, the back cover painted with two sheep in a woodland clearing by a river surrounded by agold foliate frame, the bezels set with half pearls on a dark blue enamel ground, the engraved band with repeated pattern, gold hinged cuvette inscribed Medaille d’or Genève, 1896, gold glazed bezel.
Opaline enamel, Arabic numerals, outer minute gold paillon divisions with five-minute Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial. Gilt Louis XVI hands.
