Gold verge in a Louis XVI case

A fine Swiss 20K gold and enamel open faced verge pocket watch, circa 1780. A Louis XVI case, the bezel chased and decorated with champlevé enamelled leaves and white berries, the back with a finely painted enamel scene of a cherub advancing towards a maiden playing with birds, the outer gold bead border and the outermost border decorated to match the bezel. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer dot minute divisions and Arabic five-minute numerals, pierced gold hands. A gilt-brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, plain three-armed brass balance, gilt-brass continental cock with polished steel endpiece, silver regulation dial. Dial and movement signed.
