A fine and unusual Swiss, 18K gold, royal blue translucent enamel and pearl-set lady’s pendant watch designed as a padlock, circa 1810. Case in form of a padlock, the cover decorated with a painted on enamel cherub holding a heart and sitting on a cloud, royal blue translucent enamel background over sunray engine-turning, split-pearl set border, the back decorated with a cherub standing on a split-pearl-set key and playing with two doves, background and border decorated to match the front. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minute track. Gold arrow hands. A gilt brass movement, full plate, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, continental balance cock, regulation dial.
