A fine, Swiss 18 Carat gold hunting cased gentleman’s pocket watch, circa 1880.
18 Carat gold polished case. Signed white enamel dial with fine art nouveau Arabic numerals, outer minutes track with red five minutes numerals, subsidiary dial for the seconds, and spade hands. 3/4 plate movement with gold screw compensation balance, and patented heart-shaped fine adjustment mechanism.
The screw on lever pallet and chatons as well as the minute wheel are technical enhancements that come as something of a surprise in a watch in this price range.
