Gold enamel pocket watch by Frederick Courvoisier
–
A magnificent Swiss gold/enamel hunting cased pocket watch for the Ottoman market, circa 1830. This is a watch with an 18K gold hunting case that is exceptionally beautiful. Both sides of the case have highly detailed paintings of musical instruments and flowers. The paintings are surrounded by blue enamel with golden floral inlays. The case and dome have matching numbers, and the dome is signed. It has a bar movement with cylinder escapement and an especially beautiful gold key with a pearl inlay. The enamel dial has Ottoman numerals, an original hour hand, and a later minute hand.
