A Swiss lever by Nardin in a silver open-faced case with rosewood presentation case, circa 1890. Keyless gilt bar movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Signed white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Arabic numerals, gilt hands. Plain silver open face case and silver cuvette. Nardin maker’s mark ‘N’ in a sunburst below a bird. Rosewood presentation box, vacant brass cartouche, and brass stringing to the lid. Long brass striking plate to the latch inscribed ‘James Nardin – Locle’. Lined in red silk and velvet, compartment with spare mainspring and glass.
