Gold open faced quarter repeater

A fine and rare Swiss multi-coloured gold open faced quarter repeating verge pocket watch, circa 1780. Matte gilt full plate movement, tapered cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain brass three armed balance with flat balance spring, pierced and engraved balance cock, silver regulation dial, repeating on a bell activated by depressing the pendant.
White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute divisions and Arabic fifth-minute numerals, decorative gold hands. Louis XVI case, the back decorated with a multi-coloured gold scene of a man and his dog in the garden, outer border decorated with a repeat laurel leaf pattern, bezel decorated to match.

Sharp pattern and only a few signs of wear.
Chipped around the winding aperture, all together in very good condition.
