An extremely rare single-handed Oignon with alarm and concealed erotic scene, important French watchmaker, Claude Raillard a Paris, circa 1676. A silver, very extraordinary 3-part case, hinged to both sides, back has as a middle part an pierced finely engraved erotic representation, underneath the bell, face also hinged, movement hinged, signed early verge movement, splendid verge bridge, decorated with various mythical creatures, complicated verge movement with alarm, enamelled dial ring, central brass alarm disc, in working order, alarm also intact but needs adjustment. This watch is a rarity. Only very few watches with erotic representations are known from this time.
