A very fine and very rare French, 18K gold, paste-set skeletonized pendant watch, circa 1770. With varicoloured 18K gold chatelaine, key and seal. Accompanied by a box embossed with the initials GB beneath a Vicomte’s coronet. A Louis XV case, glazed on both sides, paste-set bezels, band engraved in a repeated pattern, the top of the pendant engraved with initials.

Chatelaine: Four chain strands linking two varicoloured gold panels pierced and chased with trophies, chains for the watch, the key and the seal. White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions with large five-minute Arabic numerals. Paste-set hands. M. Hinged, gilt skeletonized plate with chased and engraved scroll and flower decoration, fusee and chain, verge escapement, brass balance with three swirled arms, flat balance spring, triangular single-footed solid engraved cock, and an index regulator.
