Gold open faced repeating chronograph by Patek Philippe

A Swiss 18 carat pink gold open faced minute repeating split seconds chronograph pocket watch, circa 1894. The watch features a nickel movement with a lever escapement, a cut bimetallic compensation balance, a blued steel balance spring, an index regulator, and a repeating mechanism on gongs activated by a slide on the band. It has a white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, 1/5 second divisions, Arabic 5 minute/second markers, subsidiary seconds, blued steel spade hands, and a split seconds complication. The solid case is made of 18 carat pink gold with a polished finish, and includes a hinged snap on cuvette and back. It is accompanied by a Patek Philippe extract from the archives confirming the date of sale as November 25th, 1902. The case, dial, and movement are all signed.

The movement is running. The case is in fair and attractive condition, showing some wear and light scratches. The hinged back is ever so slightly loose. The dial is in good condition, with fine pits and surface scratches visible upon closer examination.
