A Swiss platinum, ruby, and diamond set open faced keyless lever watch, circa 1935. Made for the American market, retailed by Hennegan-Bates.
This watch features a skeletonised, jewelled movement with a wolf’s tooth winding and a moustached lever escapement. It is signed and numbered Hennegan-Bates Company in Baltimore and Patek Philippe & Cie. Geneva, Switzerland, with the number 120015. The silvered dial includes a pearled minute track and blued steel hands, signed Patek Philippe & Cie, Geneva, Switzerland. The case is made of platinum and is open faced, with the chapter ring set with baguette cut ruby indexes interspersed with round cut diamonds and a display case back.

The movement is functioning correctly. The case is in good condition overall, with some light surface scratching typical for its age. The dial has scratches along the outermost edges and light scratching throughout, which is more noticeable above the signature at 12 o’clock.

Hennegen Bates Company was a jeweller and silversmith in Baltimore, Maryland. It was also known as Hennegan, Bates & Company and Hennegan-Bates Company. The company operated from 1857 until around 1955.
