The outstandingly designed case of this timepiece is a custom made goldsmith’s work in platinum and was manufactured in the USA by Tiffany & Co. In the mid to late 20th century, a few well known European watch manufacturers exported finished movements in transport cases to the United States of America. These were then encased in high quality cases by local jewellers, such as in this particular case Tiffany & Co in New York for Patek Philippe, according to the personal taste of their customers.
