Gilt and enamel watch by Bouvier
–
A very rare, large Swiss verge watch with enamel magnifier painting and 2nd hidden erotic painting, circa 1800. This watch features an original Leton case with original stone trimmings on both sides, although most of them are missing. The case is glazed on both sides with the finest enamel magnifier painting on the back, which has been partially restored. The inside of the case has another enamel painting of very fine quality, depicting an erotic scene which is unfortunately damaged. The watch has a signed and numbered verge movement, an original enamel dial with Breguet-style radial hours, and an outer minutes track with Arabic fifteen-minute numerals. The watch also features exceptionally beautiful and rare original hands made of silver. However, it is not passable and is considered a restoration object.
