A heavy 18 carat gold Swiss precision hunting cased pocket watch with extraordinary winding system and chronometer escapement, circa 1880. Gilt half-plate movement with chronometer escapement and bimetallic compensation balance. Gold cuvette, with the word chronometre.
White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, blued spade hands, small subsidiary seconds at six o’clock.
18 Carat gold case, engine-turned front and back cover, engraved bezels, pendant and bow, fine engraved and enamelled band. Winding by pushing the slide in the band and turn the crown at the same time. Front bezel opened by depressing the crown.
