Silver quarter repeating lever

A fine Swiss quarter repeating lever in a silver open faced case, circa 1900. Key less nickelled bar movement with makers mark ‘G.M.-B.’ within a representation of a ring. Going barrel with polished steel wolf’s teeth winding wheels. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement, escape and lever pivots with endstones in gold settings. Slide quarter repeating on two polished steel gongs, the train jeweled to the hammers. White enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, unusual blue steel hands. Substantial plain silver open faced case with a gold handset, hinges, thumb piece and gilt winding button. Back and silver cuvette signed for the French retailer marked ‘Argent 0.900’, silver slide in the band. The back well engraved with a double headed eagle holding a sword and orb, crown above and centered by a heraldic shield.
