A rare Swiss diamond set, 18 carat gold and enamel pendant watch in the form of a scarab with a loop shaped matching brooch, circa 1870. A scarab shaped case, the wings engine turned, covered with translucent green enamel and set with diamonds, the head and belly are realistically chased and engraved, the eyes made of two ruby cabochons and with a heart shaped gold dome. Small, concealed white enamel dial with radial Roman numerals and blued Breguet hands. The frosted gilt, heart shaped bridge movement with a cylinder escapement and three arm brass balance.
