A very rare Swiss gold, enamel and diamond set pendant watch in the form of a scarab, circa 1870. The scarab shaped case with translucent cobalt blue enamelled and diamond set, engine turned wings, the head and belly realistically chased and engraved, the eyes set with two cut rubies. Small, concealed white enamel dial with radial Roman hours and spade hands. An oval, frosted gilt and glazed bridge movement with a cylinder escapement, wolf teeth winding wheels and three arm brass balance.
