–
A fine, rare Swiss gentleman’s pocket watch with musical movement, circa 1810. The watch is made of 18-carat polished gold and has a reeded band. It features a case maker’s mark IE and a third standard gold mark Geneva between 1809 and 1814. There is a pusher for repetition via the pendant and a slide for the musical movement. The gold dial has an engine-turned design with an enamel chapter ring, Breguet numerals, an engraved centre, and blued Breguet hands. The movement is a 3/4 plate, keywind, and gilt, with two hammers, two gongs, and a pin-set barrel for the musical movement. It also has a virgule escapement and ring balance.
