A Swiss rare quarter repeating pocket watch with cylinder escapement, circa 1830. Original Morocco case and 18k gold watch chain with signet key. The lavishly florally engraved case is 18 carat gold with case maker’s punch mark “HF”. The dial is white enamel with Roman numerals. It has a bridge movement with 2 hammers / 2 gongs, a shock protection-“parachute”, a ring balance, a temperature compensated balance spring and is keywind. The quarter repeater is activated by pulling out a button in the pendant, turning it and then pressing it down again.
