A rare, Swiss quarter repeating gentleman’s pocket watch with concealed à trois couleurs erotic automaton in the movement, circa 1810.
18 Carat rose gold, polished case with engine-turned band, case maker punch mark JC, and slide for silence. Enamel dial with Arabic Empire numerals and blued Breguet hands. Keywind, frosted, gilt full plate movement with two hammers, two gongs, a three-arm brass balance, and a fine florally engraved and pierced balance bridge. And the movement has a compartment with a hinged lid concealing the gold erotic automaton à trois couleurs against a polished blue steel background.
