A Swiss gold open faced pocket watch by Louis Audemars for le Roy & Fils watch with two horological complications, circa 1870-1872. Gilded brass movement, with going barrel, double-train of gold wheels, straight-line equilibrated lever escapement, compensated balance and blued steel hairspring with terminal curve.
Round-shaped, pocket watch; guilloché engine-turned case back, hinged case back; and two horological complications: Dead independent seconds (exterior graduation with central hand; activated by the push-piece located on the case band at 11 o’clock), Two barrels with differential gears and bidirectional-winding inspired by Sylvain Mairet’s (1805-1890) works (1850 / 1855).
White enamel dial, Roman numerals and Arabic outer, gold spade hands. Signed cuvette.

The Leroy Extract from the Archives, dated September 2018, mentioned that this watch was sold on December 28, 1872, to Madame de Cambolas, de Castelnau d’Estrétefonds (Haute-Garonne), at Monsieur de Puylaroque in the Hôtel des Missions Etrangères, Paris, for the amount of 1 300 Francs.
