There are only a very few pocket watches known with a Jacquemart figure automaton from before 1800. This watch is one of them and also combines two extremely rare features for a Jacquemart. On the one hand, the very fine enamel painting and on the other hand, the striking on a bell.
–
The Pouzait family was one of the most important Geneva watchmakers of the 18th century. The watch comes from an important French collection that was auctioned. At that time, this watch was sold for about € 6,500.
