Rose gold, enamel, pearl and turquoise-set watch for the Chinese market

A very fine Swiss 18 carat rose gold, enamel, pearl and turquoise-set open faced quarter repeating cylinder pocket watch with musical movement made for the Chinese market, circa 1815. Fire gilt bridge movement, musical movement with pinned disc and 24 tuned vibrating blades, two hammers, two gongs, two barrels, key-winding, cylinder escapement, mirror polished and bevelled levers for musical movement, three-arm ring balance. Gold cuvette. Gold dial, engine turned with lavish floral engraving, white enamel cartouches with Arabic hours, central oval medallion with polychrome enamel painting showing a guitar and book with sheets of music surrounded by roses on a green background, framed by engraved garlands of laurel and oak leaves, Louis XVI hands. Bezels, pendant and bow set with half pearls, the band half pearl and turquoise-set, the back with polychrome enamel painting depicting a Chinese lake scape with a pair of anglers, waterfall and two pagoda houses in the background on an engine-turned ground with translucent cobalt blue enamelling, pusher for repetition via pendant, a slide for the musical movement and silence.
