Extremely rare chronometer with electric contact device
–
An extremely rare engine turned anker chronometer, made by Ulysse Nardin SA, in le Locle, Switzerland, circa 1880. This watch features a numbered engine turned case stamped by Ulysse Nardin, crafted from 0.900 silver. Its bezel is inscribed with “CONTACT” and includes a slide switch alongside two contacts used to control electrical currents every second. The enamel dial features an outer minute and hour track with Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel hands. The numbered movement is equipped with a very fine anker chronometer escapement, Geneva striping decoration and a fine adjusting device.
The case and movement bear matching numbers and the dial and movement are signed.
