A rare, very fine quarter repeating coach clock with quarter hour self strike, date indicator and alarm, circa 1810. Silver case, polished, à goutte, rear bell, case maker’s punch mark “PLM” and signature in mirror writing: “MALIGNON”. Dial is enamel, Arabic numerals, subsidiary chapter ring with indexes for alarm, central date ring, gold “Poker & Beetle” hands. Full plate movement, signed, gilt, chain/fusee, solid movement pillars, additional barrels for striking and alarm, 5 hammers, verge escapement, three arm brass balance, finely pierced and florally hand engraved balance bridge.
