Marksman’s watch with lever escapement
–
An unusual marksman’s watch, made for the Tir Cantonal Vaudois in Payerne by Manufacture d’horlogerie A. Reymond SA in Tramelan, Switzerland, circa 1928. The case of this watch was crafted from silver by the Huguenin Frères and features a relief of a marksman on the back lid. The excellently preserved dial features gold Breguet hour numerals for 1 to 12 o’clock, Arabic hour numerals for 13 to 24 o’clock, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and gold hands. The very fine, probably Piguet movement is equipped with a lever escapement and a fine adjustment.
The case and movement are signed.
