A Swiss stainless steel keyless deck watch made for the British Army, by International Watch Co., Schaffhausen, circa 1940. Polished screwed case back, keyless winding and indirect center seconds. The numbered open faced case of this watch, made by the Fédération de Fabricants de Boîtes Argent (FFBA), S. Graber SA in Renan, was crafted from silver and has the British military marking H.S.↑3 on the back lid. A white enamel dial with suspended Arabic numerals, with the number 4983 and blued steel Pear hands. A gilded brass movement, going barrel, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensated balance with gold poising screws and blued steel hairspring with terminal curve, polished steel index regulator with swanneck spring and micrometric screw; indirect center seconds. Signature on the movement.
