Rare flower shaped cylinder watch

A rare enamel pendant form watch in the shape of a flower, made by Louis Müller & Cie. in Biel, Switzerland, circa  1900. The numbered case of this watch was crafted from very solid silver and enamel in the shape of a flower and the gilt dial has Arabic hour numerals and steel hands. The numbered movement has a cylinder escapement.

Müller
Louis Müller & Cie was a Swiss watchmaking company founded in Biel by Louis Müller Sr. and passed to his son, Louis Müller Jr., in 1890. The company was known as Vve. Louis Müller after the elder Müller’s death and officially became Louis Müller & Cie in 1893. Under the younger Müller, the company grew rapidly, expanding its factory to the “La Champagne” area of Bienne and becoming a prominent manufacturer of high quality movements.

La Champagne entered bankruptcy proceedings in June 1959 and was dissolved on March 2, 1961. Ownership of the Champagne brand was taken over by Nicolet Watch of Tramelan.
