–
An unusual Art Deco dress watch with enamelled drop shaped case, made by Mido in Solothurn, Switzerland, circa 1930. The numbered and asymmetric case was crafted from silver and it has a band overlaid with opaque blue enamel, a black enamel triangular bow, a back decorated with black and blue enamel stripes and a winding crown set with a cabochon blue stone. The silvered dial features Breguet hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and attractive Art Deco hands. The numbered movement is fitted with a lever escapement, 15 jewels and three adjustments.
The case, dial and movement are signed.
