A very fine quarter repeating pocket watch with Jacquemart automaton and chain made by Duchêne & Fils in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1820. The numbered, open faced case of this watch is crafted from silver, is engine turned on the back, has a reeded band and coin edge. The face is blue enamelled, has small, central white enamel time indication with radial Arabic hour numerals, an outer minute track, steel moon hands and outermost gold decoration, the applied multicoloured Jacquemarts start striking the bells by activating the repeater. The movement has a verge escapement repeating the quarter hours.
The cuvette is signed.
