Platinum complicated watch by Audemars Piguet

A Swiss very fine platinum skeletonized astronomical gentleman’s pocket watch with perpetual calendar and moon phases, circa 1983. This piece, the Royal Oak Quantieme Perpetuel, is the first officially produced watch of a small series with serial No. 17 (No. 1 is in the museum of Audemars Piguet ). Accompanied by the original platinum watch chain (99.5 gr.).
Polished octagonal case, glazed on both sides. Skeletonized dial, diamond indexes on the outer blue enamelled chapter ring, subsidiary rings for the indication of the months and leap year at 12 o’clock, the date at 3, auxiliary seconds in combination with phases of the moon and its age at 6, weekdays at 9 and blued lozenge hands. Rhodium-plated, skeletonized hand-engraved bridge movement, Glucydur screw balance, shock protection for the balance and escape wheel, finely ground and bevelled parts for the calendar.
