An extremely rare and very fine Swiss 18 carat rose gold key wind pocket watch with a visible balance, circa 1810. The case with reeded bezels and band is glazed on both sides, showing an eccentric white enamel dial featuring Arabic hour numerals, outer minute divisions and blued Breguet hands on the face, and a polychrome enamel painting depicting a young lady breaking Cupid’s arrow of love to pieces on the reverse. The rose gold and yellow gilt vase shaped, lavishly florally engraved movement with a verge escapement, chain and fusee, round pillars and three arm steel balance. The dial is marked Ls M.
