Stainless steel pocket watch with silvered dial

An as new split seconds chronograph made by Longines in Saint Imier, Switzerland, circa 1953. The numbered open faced case of this watch, crafted from stainless steel, bears the serial and a reference number on the back lid. The silvered dial has Arabic numerals for the hours, an outer minute track with 1/5th of a second second divisions and Arabic five minute numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, 30 minute counter at 12 and blued steel hands. The numbered movement features a precision lever escapement, split seconds chronograph, Glucydur balance with screws, 21 jewels and is marked Swiss.
The case and movement have matching serial numbers, and the dial and movement are signed.
