Glucydur
A Glucydur balance is the timekeeping component in a mechanical watch, known as a balance wheel, made from a special beryllium bronze alloy called Glucydur. This beryllium copper alloy is highly prized in watchmaking for its excellent dimensional stability, resistance to temperature changes, durability, and non magnetic properties, all of which contribute to a watch’s accuracy and reliability.
