A very rare and complicated Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased pocket watch “Chronomètre à Deux Echappements” with second time zone, date and weekday indicators, thermometer and centre seconds made for the Ottoman market, circa 1870.
Bridge movement, 2 barrels, 41 rubies and 2 screw compensation balances, the two time zones of this striking watch are operated by two independent gear trains with an escapement each in an all but perfectly symmetrical movement.
Engine turned silver dial with applied floral gold decoration a trois coleur, Roman, Arabic and Turkish numerals, three subsidiary dials. Plain monogrammed case.
