Gold key winding lever
–
A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold hunting cased key winding pocket watch, circa 1870. An engine turned cover and case back, with in the center, an escutcheon, engraved with the cypher M.C. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and yellow gold pear hands. Two horological complications: Dead independent seconds, exterior graduation with central hand, activated by the slide located on the case band. Two barrels with differential gears and bidirectional winding inspired by Sylvain Mairet’s (1805-1890). A nickel plated movement, two going barrel, gold double train of wheels, straight line equilibrated lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensated balance with gold poising screws and blued steel hairspring with terminal curve by B.H.J.
