Silver open faced pocket watch with a rare caliber
–
An unusual pocket watch with calendar, of chronometer quality, probably assembled in Switzerland, circa 1900. The open faced case is crafted from silver, numbered, engine turned on the back with a monogram FP in the center and was probably made by George Fox & Co. in Southport, England. The white enamel dial has a rare patented calendar, the date digits can be set separately, underneath the rotating English day and has black Roman hour numerals and a subsidiary seconds dial with black Arabic numerals at six o’cloc and black hands. The rare caliber movement has a Swiss anker chronometer with lever escapement.
The dial is inscribed with the patent number and the cuvette is signed and inscribed Frank Parmeter.
