Rectangular with canted corners, applied gold decoration, bezel set with pearls, polished back with winding, setting and regulating apertures, pearl-set suspension loop. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals and outer minute divisions, the balance below spinning against a polished steel plate. Blued steel Scottie’s hands.
A brass movement, rectangular with canted corners, fixed barrel, Robin-type lever escapement, three-arm gold balance without balance spring.
–
Dimensions: 40 x 25 mm
–
Signed: No name
–
The case has some alterations and the movement some transformations.
–
This pendant watch was converted from a ring watch, probably in the late 19th century. The escapement, whilst being a replacement, is interesting and unusual. It is similar to the Robin escapement but with a detent spring to keep tension on the lever.
