An unusual Swiss gentleman’s pocket watch with a solid steel bridge movement, circa 1830.
Polished silver case, the back engraved with flags, military instruments, and a canon. White enamel dial with blue radial Roman numerals for the hours, outer minutes track with red Arabic five minutes numerals, and Louis XV hands. Bridge movement, three-arm steel balance, keywind, shock protection parachute, temperature compensation.

This watch may seem rather nondescript at first glance, however, the fact that all movement parts are made of polished steel, the unusual shock protection device and the coloured dial with the delicate hands actually make this watch a fascinating collector’s piece. We know of only two other examples of this type.
