A fine and rare French 18 carat gold open faced verge pocket watch with calendar and very rare central winding, circa 1795. Slim gilt full plate fusee movement, unusual plain polished cock, polished steel three-arm balance, blued steel spiral hairspring and regulator index engraved on the plate.
The dail with a very fine polychrome enamel painting, time indication at 12 o’clock with Arabic hours, an outer minute track and Arabic quarter hour numerals, underneath two subsidiary dials with on the left the date and on the right the days of the week, gold hands. Plain consular case.
