Gold full hunter by Patek Philippe

A very fine Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased quarter repeating lever pocket watch, circa 1865-1890. Bridge movement, two hammers, two gongs, a piston tooth lever escapement and gold screw compensation balance. White enamel dial with Roman hours, an outer minute track, Arabic five minute numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and moon hands. A plain case, an engraved monogram with a crown above on the front. Dial signed, cuvette signed and numbered, case and movement numbered.

The former property of aristocrats.

This special timepiece was made in the 1860s and given a new, contemporary hunter case by Patek Philippe around 1890. It is suspected the watch was meant to be passed down from father to son. The case and the noble coat of arms have been updated with the appropriate monogram.
