A Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased keyless pocket watch made by Stauffer & Co. in La Chaux-de-Fonds, London Hallmarked for 1912. The movement with a Swiss lever escapement. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, an outer minute track, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and blued spade hands. The polished hinged case with a monogram on the front. Case numbered, movement signed and numbered.

The Swiss watchmaking company Stauffer, Fils & Cie. was founded in 1830 by Charles Philip Stauffer and his son Julius (1808-1884) with an office in Geneva and a factory in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Soon after, a London office was opened by Julius to import watches from their Swiss manufactury and sell them on the British market and in the entire British Empire. This branch operated under the name Stauffer & Co. (or Stauffer, Son & Co.).
