Gold open faced keyless lever watch
–
A fine Swiss 14 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch made by IWC Schaffhausen, early 20th century. This watch has a mechanical crown-winding manual movement featuring a lever escapement with stone pallets, screwed chatons, and a swan neck fine adjustment system. The white enamel dial shows elegant stylised black Arabic numerals for the hours, an outer minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and blued steel Breguet style hands. The dial bears the International Watch Co. Schaffhausen signature across the centre. The timepiece is housed in a substantial three body, 14 carat solid yellow gold open faced case with a polished bezel, a fluted winding crown, an adjacent small pin set pusher for time setting, and a round bow. The solid yellow gold back cover is finely decorated with a detailed moss guilloché engine turned pattern.
