A very fine Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased quarter repeating keyless pocket watch with triple calendar and moon phase made for the Spanish market by A. Huguenin & Sons in Le Locle, circa 1890. The Swiss lever movement with a cut and compensated bimetallic balance and wolf’s tooth winding, two polished hammers striking on a gong. Silvered dial with applied two colour gold foliate decoration, Roman hour numerals, silvered outer dot minute divisions, an aperture for the digital indication of the months in Spanish at 12 o’clock, the date at 2, the days of the week at 10, subsidiary seconds with concentric phases of the moon at 6 and black spade hands. The foliate engraved hinged case with a vacant cartouche on the front cover, a cartouche with the image of a dove on the reverse, both bezels decorated to match and a repeat slide in the band at 6 o’clock. Dial and movement signed, cuvette signed and numbered.
